About Us

Our Mission: High quality, happy tail companions from our home to yours!

Here at SON-shine Acres we are always looking for ways to raise the bar on taking out the guesswork when it comes to adding a furry member to your family! Our puppies are part of our family from day one and love interacting with our family activities. They are highly suitable companions for young and old alike and are very tolerant and gentle with small children. By keeping our breeding program small and breeding high quality genetics, we are able to give our adults and puppies the love and care they deserve while helping to ensure they will be healthy for many years with your family. This also assures that we are able to set them up for the best chance of success as they adjust to your home! Come meet our little ones in person or set up a delivery to a place near you.

Which breed is right for you?

When you are looking to add a member to your family, there are several questions that come to mind, such as: What size? Is hypoallergenic important to you? What traits are important to you? Do you have a favorite color type? Is low maintenance important? These questions can help narrow down which breed you should consider.

Golden Retrievers are the most loyal dogs you can imagine. With their rose tinted glasses on, they see their human friends as perfect and you really cannot do anything wrong. They tend to have great retriever instincts and tend to nurture rather than guard. While they are low maintenance in terms of grooming, they do shed their hair and are not considered hypoallergenic.

Goldendoodles are the result of crossing a poodle with a golden retriever. They tend to carry the same loving traits as the golden retriever but in a much more cuddly package. They have a non-shedding coat and generally are considered hypo allergenic. The down side to this is that they do require regular haircuts and grooming. You can expect them to need a haircut every 1-2 months. Micro goldendoodles are a smaller version of their mini and standard goldendoodle brothers and weigh 20 lbs or less.

Bernedoodles are the result of breeding a Bernese Mountain Dog with a poodle. While many of their maintenance requirements and benefits are similar to their cousins, the goldendoodles, Bernedoodles tend to be more happy go lucky and fun. They are very soft and lovable dogs, and its no wonder they have become so popular in recent years!
